Areas
Key words

Specialist in the field of geoarcheology and archaeometry. An expert in the field of archaeological geophysics (ground – penetrating radar and magnetic method).

Academic research conducted

Identification of the extent and stratigraphy of the archaeological sites using geophysical methods. Archaeometric analysis of the monuments and artefacts, study of lake sediments for the reconstruction of changes in the past climate. Performing full-scale drilling both at archaeological sites and in other areas for recognition of vertical stratigraphy and geology.

Cooperation

German Archaeological Institute in Rome, Institute of Archeology in Zagreb, French Institute for Oriental Archaeology in Cairo, Lopar Culture Centre, Rab (Croatia). Rab Town Hall, Isle of Rab (Croatia). Międzynarodowe Centrum Szopenowskie in Sanniki, Town Hall in Czempiń, Fundacja Dziedzictwa Kulturowego, Companies: Terra FM, Skanska. Research Centre in Cairo, Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology University of Warsaw

Achievements

Developed together with prof. Lawrence Conyers (Denver University, USA) methods of data comparing ground-penetrating radar and magnetic methods (ADCM- Amplitude Data Comparyson Method) with the aim of a better analysis of geophysical picture of underground structures. Developed together with prof.J. Nitychoruk (Wyższa Szkoła w Białej Podlaskiej) innovative methods of drilling, that is retrieving cores of lake sediments from ice.

Offer for entrepreneurs

  • Geophysical studies of various kinds of sites with the ground-penetrating radar method, magnetic method, elektrooporowej oraz kapametru (magnetic susceptibility). Search for cavities, elements of infrastructure (pipes, cables), aerial modelling of underground structures on the basis of results of geophysical surveys;
  • 3D modelling of selected sites, buildings and structures, with the use of air ortophotography (drones);
  • Recognition of range and stratigraphy of archeological sites with the method of vibration full-scale drilling;
  • Environmental research.

Professional experience

since 2010 Adjunct at the Institute of Archeology CSWU
2010 - 2018 Geophysical studies with the use of ground-penetrating radar and gradientometer (magnetic method) of a number of sites in Poland, Egypt, Italy and Croatia. Environmental research based mainly on analyses of cores of lake sediments pursued in Poland (Warmia and Mazury), Egypt (Nile Delta), Croatia (Slavonia). Recognizing the range and stratigraphy of archeological sites with the method of vibration full-scale drilling in Poland and Croatia.

Certificates

  • M.A. Diploma 2013 (with WU Rector’s distinction) Field: geology. University of Warsaw, Faculty of Geology;
  • Postgraduate studies (2018-2019) in the field of:Applied geophysics.AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków (underway).

Organizations

  • International Focus Group on Northeastern African Quaternary Stratigraphy (NAQS). INQUA (International Union for Quaternary Reseach). Vice president (since 2017);
  • Stowarzyszenie Naukowe Archeologów Polskich (SNAP). Komisja do spraw badań geofizycznych w archeologii. President (since 2018).
