Compilation of an innovative teaching program of social workers at universities in Ukraine taking into account standards of teaching of social workers in Canada. The head of the project is prof. Brad MacKenzie (University of Manitoba, Canada).
Research method
Preparing the lecturers of the Chair of Sociology and Social work of the Lviv Polytechnic National University to run new classes scheduled in the curriculum of social workers in the University of Manitoba.
History of execution
Compilation of an innovative teaching program for Ukrainian social workers. Compilation of syllabi and new subject coursebooks in Ukrainian. Preparation of Ukrainian lecturers to conduct classes scheduled in the program. Preparation of databases of practices for Ukrainian students. Organization of workshops for supervisor of student practices. Lecturer and student exchange between the “Lviv Polytechnic National University” and the University of Manitoba in Canada. Organization of workshops, training courses, conferences broadening the knowledge of lecturers and students on the topic of advanced approaches to social work.
Effect of implementation
Accreditation of an innovative teaching program in the speciality “Social work” at the B.A. And M.A. levels. Progressive changes in the functioning of social services in the Ukraine, providing services to people needing help, including – the disabled, addicted, unemployed et al. Creating an international academic community.

High rating of the implementation of the project by the Canadian International Development Agency CIDA.
Impact of the result on: development of science, economy, society
The project positively influenced the development of social work as the science; as the result of implementation of the project, a number of lecturers prepared and defended their academic theses in the field of “social work”.
