Analysis of psychological barriers in the use of telemedicine solutions by doctors and patients.

Project/study aim

Analysis of obstacles in the application of telemedical devices by doctors and their promotion among patients (especially the ones needing telerehabilitation after surgical interventions), as well as creating an analysis providing an initial answer to the question whether the developing market of telemedicine could: become a solution of problems of the Polish health care system in terms of access to doctors, improve the quality of patients’ adherence to the recommended therapy, or become a factor dehumanizing doctor’s contact with the patient.

In-depth interviews (20 patients, 20 doctors)

History of execution

The studies conducted became the basis for trainings dedicated to doctors who were not convinced to telemedicine solutions, in order to break the doctors’ resistance from communicating with the patients with the use of IT/ICT solutions.

Effect of implementation

A cycle of training courses, conducted in selected health care centers In 2018.
